Our mission is to provide children with special needs the opportunity for an inclusive Catholic education in their home parish schools.
Feeling welcome. Being included. Opening doors so all God’s children, regardless of ability, have the opportunity to grow in faith, knowledge and friendship. Inclusive Catholic education is a blessing that has been shaping lives, hearts and minds in schools in the Diocese of Kansas City – St. Joseph (MO) since 1996.
The FIRE Foundation makes financial grants to partner schools within the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph to partially fund special education services. Students with special needs learn along side their peers in an inclusive learning environment. Inclusive Catholic Education helps each child reach their highest potential and enlightens the lives of all children by teaching acceptance, compassion and the value of every child of God.
“There is a very important spiritual dimension to what we are doing. Jesus did not discriminate. And that is our teaching, the message of the gospel: that everyone made in His image and likeness should be treated fairly, given the same opportunities and become one in the family of God.”
– Bishop Emeritus Raymond Boland
Let us build a house where love can dwell
And all can safely live,
A place where saints and children tell
How hearts learn to forgive.
Built of hopes and dreams and visions,
Rock of faith and vault of grace;
Here the love of Christ shall end divisions;
All are welcome, all are welcome,
All are welcome in this place.
